Katherine, NT rewards local support for shops with the Live Local, Love Local campaign

Residents who completed transactions of $20 AUD or more at participating businesses were eligible for a voucher during the monthlong program. An email to the town council with a valid receipt was entered into a weekly draw. The winner received a $200 AUD voucher to a shop of their choice. Katherine Town Council also encouraged residents to share their local shop experiences on social media with the #katherineproud hashtag.

The council recruited local shops and restaurants for free entries in the app directory. App users learn about each shop's current hours, services, and contact information. A Support button leads to an updated list of local, state, and national support services. Residents can also connect to the COVID-19 hotline, general practitioners, and medical specialists from the app.
