Keller, TX pilots four day work-week to bolster staff recruitment and retention
The City of Keller is testing out a compressed work schedule for some employees, with the goal of improving work-life balance for staff. In addition to bolstering employee recruitment and retention, city officials hope the move will also improve efficiency in areas like public works and park maintenance. In those areas, fewer and longer shifts mean that more work can be accomplished between the time it takes to set up and tear down a job site each day.

Keller, TX designated an 800-acre area as a tax increment reinvestment zone for capital improvements
Keller City Council has designated an 800-acre area as a tax increment reinvestment zone (TIRZ). Any additional revenue from property tax above the baseline in the TIRZ will be diverted to a capital improvements fund through 2051. The goal of these capital improvements is to make the area more appealing to private investors. Once capital improvements in the area are complete, all property tax revenue in the area will return to the general fund.
