The city of Knoxville is planning to partner with 24 Acoustics to launch a pilot of noise-detecting cameras. The cameras sit dormant until triggered by loud noise, at which point the cameras record two-directional video and take a photo of the offending vehicle including the license plate. If the pilot proves the cameras are effective at identifying sources of noise the city will expand the program.

The one-year pilot could lead to additional teams for assistance with Knoxville's 270,000 police calls per year.

Local organization Centro Hispano de East TN shaped the bot's Spanish-language capabilities for equal service in two languages.
