Leduc, AB turns Eco Station into a self-sustaining facility with rooftop solar installation

Leduc, AB Rooftop Solar Installation Eco Station

Complete

The Leduc Eco Station provides a drop-off location for small amounts of hazardous materials and recyclables. A 17-kilowatt rooftop solar system allows the building to achieve net-zero emissions. City officials estimate that initial project costs will be repaid in 14 years. Leduc will thereafter generate revenue from excess solar energy sold back to the grid. The Eco Station project reduces carbon emissions by 10 tons per year.
