London Borough of Haringey is investing £4,800,000 to replace 5,500 streetlights with LED lanterns. The Council designed this LED programme to enhance street lighting, encourage active travel, and improve road safety. The LED streetlights will reduce energy consumption by 50% and reduce maintenance costs by up to £105,000. The Council plans to implement an intelligent control system to remotely management lighting levels and monitor any faults in the LED streetlight network.
