The City of Miami launched MiamiCoin ($MIA), its own version of the CityCoin, making it the first in the United States to use its own cryptocurrency. CityCoin is a programmable city-based token designed to generate a community-driven revenue stream and expand the economy for local governments. Users mining for MiamiCoin receive 70% if the reward for each decrypted block and the remaining 30% goes toward the city's budget to support local projects and infrastructure development.
