Milwaukee County is looking to use artificial intelligence to identify foreclosure ordinances and policies that may inadvertently promote racial inequality. The county partnered with SAS and SolasAI to form the MKE Equity team and participate in the 2022 SAS Hackathon program. During the program, the team used SAS Viya Suite artificial intelligence to analyze policy wording, foreclosure data, and any subsequent racial inequities. The county is still seeking an effective, long-term solution.

The Umo mobile app allows users to access all-in-one fare-payment and trip-planning features that boost transit equity and enhance the rider's experience.

This has allowed the county to see where vulnerable communities are getting hit the hardest and allocate resources accordingly. The county plans to utilize this dashboard for future public health emergencies to detect racial disparities.
