Four solar installations across the council provide 82.5 kilowatts of zero-emissions energy to public buildings. These projects range from the Heritage Research Centre's 6kW system to the 30-kW Civic Centre installation. Council leaders also replaced 4,980 street lights and 1,676 office lights with LED fixtures. Both projects eliminate 1,233 tons of emissions per year with solar panels alone saving $37,200 in annual energy costs.
