Mt Juliet City, TN is improving emergency response times by reworking its 911 dispatch process
The Mt. Juliet Fire Department is eliminating a redundant step in its 911 dispatch process to improve response times. Previously, all 911 calls made in Wilson County were sent to the county's central dispatch, transferred to the city's call center, and then city dispatchers alerted emergency services. The new system will allow county operators to dispatch city firefighters directly to the scene of the emergency in order to improve response times by approximately two to four minutes.
