Murray River, NSW improves public access to cemetery information with digitization project
Project partner Chronicle conducted ground and aerial surveys of six community cemeteries. Survey data were uploaded to a searchable map for each cemetery listed on the council website. Users search by name or plot number for internment dates, monument photos, and other site information. Murray River's digitization effort simplifies burial bookings, improves plot maintenance, and supports collaboration with area funeral directors.

Murray River, NSW creates a clearer picture of water usage and waste with smart meter project
The council began the installation of 8,500 smart water meters across the area at the outset of COVID-19. Murray River's smart meter project encompasses residential and commercial customers along with raw and filtered water users. Contractors installed approximately 40% of meters in the project's first three months. An online dashboard for each account holder will simplify service and billing requests while accurately measuring daily water usage.
