North East Derbyshire District Council, GB increases its housing stock with Empty Property Scheme
The one-year pilot brought some of the district's 400 empty homes back into use. Council officials worked with E.ON to evaluate applications from residential property owners. The Empty Property Scheme provided property surveys, cleaning and clearance services, and free Energy Performance Certificates to participants. The program also connected property owners with letting assistance and no-interest payment plans for E.ON services.
