Nürnberg, BY is going to use the Luca mobile app for COVID-19 contact tracing

The City of Nürnberg is partnering with the providers of the Luca app to enable a digital solution for contact tracing when the COVID-19 restrictions are removed. The free Luca mobile app will allow shops, restaurants, cultural events, and private meetings to conduct digital check-ins and check-outs. In the event of a coronavirus infection, the Luca app will guarantee a secure and encrypted reporting chain to the health department.

Nürnberg, BY is naming a new district based on a list of suggestions from residents

The City of Nürnberg is building a new district consisting of 1,600 apartments, a school, daycare centers, and supply stores on the area of the former Südbahnhof. The city is asking residents to help select the name of this new district by submitting their suggestions online or by mail. The name suggestions will be reviewed by a jury and selection will be presented to the city council for an official vote to determine the name of the new district.
