The Halton-run Oakville Food Forest houses fruit and nut trees along with dense foliage that rejuvenates the park's biodiversity. Oakvillegreen will convert its lot into the Oakville Pollinator Pathway using wildflowers and native plants. Town officials are working with volunteer groups to tend the gardens and teach the community how to grow healthy food.

The city council approved a seven-year plan to purchase 60 electric buses. An initial purchase of six plug-in buses and chargers allowed transit staffers to evaluate the best timeline for fleet replacement.
