Orkney Islands Council, GB simplifies its building management processes with iSCAN platform

Project partners IES and danalto swapped multiple building management systems for iSCAN. Secure connections were established between IoT devices at seven council buildings and the platform. Newly installed utility meters and climate sensors monitor real-time operations. A single log-in provides access to air quality, carbon dioxide concentration, and energy consumption dashboards. Future integration of the technology in all council buildings will enable remote management by council officials.

Orkney Islands Council, GB trials insulation robot as part of home energy improvement program

Council officials received Scottish Government funding to increase the use of underfloor insulation that reduces heat loss by up to 80%. Twenty privately owned homes in need of home energy improvements are visited by Q-Bot during the pilot. Q-Bot easily applies insulation under floors that can be difficult to apply by hand. This trial adds to a multi-year partnership with Warmworks that provides up to £14,000 in insulation services per applicant.
