Palm Springs, CA basic-income LGBTQ pilot
In Progress
The Palm Springs City Council is partnering with local non-profit organizations DAP Health and Queer Works to design a guaranteed basic-income pilot program for transgender and non-binary residents. The city is spending $200,000 to research methods for conducting the pilot program to successfully reduce homelessness and poverty rates among this vulnerable population. The pilot program would offer approximately 20 participants between $600-900 each month through city, state, and donor funding.
