Paris, IDF considers smart sensor pilot in select neighborhoods for improved noise abatement

Paris, IDF Smart Sensor Neighborhood Noise Abatement Pilot

Planning

Paris is evaluating how smart technology can fulfill its four-year noise plan. The proposed three-week pilot would test Medusa noise sensors in two neighborhoods. Each Medusa unit holds four microphones and two cameras that triangulate noises over legal limits. The technology designed by Bruitparif connects to the CCTV network and issues fines based on license plate recognition. This project is pending approval by the city council and a public feedback period.
