Penrith, NSW Hamper Hub Food Poverty Residents COVID-19

In Progress

Council leaders opened the hub in September 2021 to address community concerns about dietary challenges in lockdown. Leisure center staffers were allocated to the project as their primary roles were put on hold by COVID-19. Residents in need of non-perishable food book contactless pickups at the Hamper Hub three days a week. Hampers are stocked with canned produce, beans, and other items donated by local partners and individuals.
