Pharr, TX plans to install fiber-optic cables to give every resident/business high-speed internet

The City of Pharr is partnering with STX Underground LLC to install fiber optic cable and provide high-speed internet access to all local residents. The city plans to install approximately 398 miles of fiber-optic cable connected to every home and business in order to close the digital divide by providing every resident with gigabyte internet speed.

Pharr, TX launched a pilot program to provide free internet access for 50 local families

The city partnered with the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District, the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, and Frontera Consulting to launch the Pharr Life Net program. This pilot provides 50 families with free internet access, bilingual training, and technical support.
