Phoenix, AZ "Oops Shine On" recycling program

Complete

The City of Phoenix launched the "Oops Shine On" pilot program in 2018 to educate residential waste customers on proper recycling. Employees of the Phoenix Public Works Department inspected curbside recycling bins of approximately 1,200 households and left report cards based on the contents. Customers received an "Oops" tag if the materials should be in the recycling bin or they received a "Shine On!" tag if they recycled correctly.
