City-run Pico Rivera Innovative Municipal Energy (PRIME) worked with TerraVerde Energy on a DER pilot at 26 public buildings. This initiative tested how solar energy and battery storage stabilized local grid performance. City officials are determining how DER technology could be extended to PRIME residential customers who purchase green energy. The residential pilot will evaluate the decentralized system's impacts on household energy bills, emissions, and reliability.
