Playford, SA develops financial literacy skills with Everyday Money Skills platform
The city and Playford Friends Group used an AUD 20,000 grant from The Wyatt Trust on a platform for residents with disabilities. Everyday Money Skills provides six lessons on topics including counting money, household budgeting, and saving techniques. Each lesson features videos and interactive exercises with lesson plans for trainers. Playford designed the platform for use across Australia with applicability to young people, low-literacy residents, and newly arrived migrants.

Playford, SA works with state government and local partners to develop area's first Wellbeing Hub
The Playford Wellbeing Hub opened in 2021 to improve community health and social connections during COVID-19 and beyond. Residents access healthy cooking and gardening lessons along with pantry essentials at The Precinct. The council partners with BlueFit on group fitness courses, daycare services, and social events at the John McVeity Centre. Playford received assistance from South Australia as part of the state's Wellbeing SA Statewide Wellbeing Strategy.

Playford, SA puts driverless electric bus to the test through two-part pilot
An initial eight-month pilot ran the six-seat minibus from a parking lot to Lyell McEwin Hospital. Playford and partners DPTI, SAGE Automation, and EasyMile shifted the bus to a four-month trial between Munno Para train station and Playford Alive Township. Each bus is limited to 20 kilometers per hour with a GPS-guided route. Passengers used the bus for free during its morning and afternoon commute services.
