Québec, QC extends public transit options into new areas with Flexibus on-demand program
City officials and RTC are planning a four-year rollout of the on-demand transit option into seven outlying zones. Transit users request rides aboard eight-seat Flexibus vans using the RTC app. The program promises a pickup within 15 minutes of a request. Commuters can complete rides to offices, stores, and medical centers within their home zones. Québec selected neighborhoods and areas with limited transit access for the Flexibus program.

Québec, QC determines best way to divert food waste from landfills with residential collection pilot
Participants receive recyclable bags for food waste storage during two three-week pilots. Food waste bags are placed in garbage bins for collection. Québec's waste recovery center automatically removes and sends bags to an anaerobic digester. Each three-week pilot evaluates a different bag and container that could be used citywide by 2022. A broad-scale collection system helps the city achieve its goal of recovering at least 82% of resources used by 2028.

Québec, QC seeks resident feedback on urban greening pilots with online engagement campaign
Québec plans 10 greening pilots for five neighborhoods with the city's lowest tree canopy indices. Each pilot will add trees and adjust street surfaces to reduce urban heating effects.
