Quesnel, BC expedites Accessory Dwelling Unit permit approvals with pre-reviewed plans
Quesnel used designer input, a public survey, and focus groups during the development of five ADU designs. The secondary dwelling templates include a two-story carriage house with a garage and a 70 square meter flat. Valid permit applications based on these templates are reviewed within three days. ADUs achieving at least Step 3 in the BC Energy Step Code qualify for a CAD 600 rebate. Building permit fees are waived for the first 15 approved applications through October 2023.
