Recife, PE strengthens mosquito control efforts with new reporting tool and drone inspections

A new feature on the Conecta Recife portal accepts reports of potential mosquito breeding areas. City officials respond to reports in remote or difficult-to-reach areas by sending drones for initial inspections. Confirmed hotspots result in visits by municipal agents for water removal and extermination of larvae. These innovations along with expanded agent training and additional traps form a citywide effort to curb mosquito-borne illnesses.
