The city of Ribeirão Preto's Department of Environment launched an awareness campaign to reduce pollution caused by the irregular disposal of solid waste. The environmental education campaign focused on understanding the social and environmental consequences of unrestrained consumption, the generation of solid waste, and the lack of reuse and recycling. The city distributed informative posters with QR codes that direct residents to a website detailing waste sorting and collection schedules.

Ribeirão Preto, SP launches R$3 million partnership to implement LED lighting throughout the city
The city of Ribeirão Preto is partnering with FEP-CAIXA Cooperation and the International Finance Corporation on a R$3 million project to implement LED lighting throughout the entire city. The project will cover the services of installation, modernization, efficiency, expansion, management, operation and maintenance of the municipal public lighting network over 13 years. The goal of the project is reduce energy consumption, deter crime, and improve the quality of urban spaces.
