Rockland County, NY develops educational campaign to reduce pedestrian crashes in Ramapo
The Arrive Alive: Walk Wise Drive Smart campaign sought to move Ramapo out of New York's top 20 for pedestrian-involved accidents. The county installed signs at five bus shelters in the town with bike and pedestrian safety tips. New displays in five parking lots remind commuters to avoid distracted driving, travel the speed limit, and look for pedestrians. County officials created a 45-minute presentation on pedestrian safety available to businesses and community groups.
