The City of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu is piloting a project to introduce a speed limit of 40 kilometers per hour in residential sectors. The Council is studying the relevance and effectiveness of lowering the regulatory speed limit to reduce the traffic speed of motorists and increase safety on residential streets. The project will analyze speed readings before and after lowering the regulatory speed using road equipment, field observations, and citizen surveys.
