Each node includes multiple sensors and connectivity methods programmable by researchers through the project's portal. Individuals, startups, and academics use UMBRELLA's open platform for no-cost tests of new ideas. This testbed encourages virtual experimentation with robotics at the Bristol & Bath Science Park and smart city sensing at the University of the West of England.
