Shire officials approved the parking sensor network after receiving feedback on parking enforcement from business owners. Four coastal towns host 399 sensors that monitor parking bays. The network evaluates how long vehicles remain in parking spots without manual checks. Surf Coast will convert the sensors from data gathering to enforcement with public notice if excessive illegal parking is found.
