Surrey Heath Borough Council, GB consolidates GIS mapping capabilities with XMAP platform
The cloud-based XMAP system replaces multiple GIS systems used across borough departments. XMAP allows Surrey Heath employees to complete mapping projects from home during the COVID-19 outbreak. Local developer Geoxphere updates the system weekly to refine tools. Borough officials are working with neighboring councils on sharing data through XMAP. This GIS upgrade led to user-friendly maps of public rights of way, parks, and planning applications.
