The City of Edinburgh Council, GB partners with Amey on smart, energy-efficient street light upgrade
The City of Edinburgh Council, GB Amey Street Light Upgrade
The project replaced 55,000 street lights throughout Edinburgh with LED fixtures. A centralized light management system includes automated fault detection for quick deployment of repair teams. This system allows light brightness and color customization by neighborhood. Edinburgh will achieve £54 million in energy savings during the system's first 20 years. The upgraded light network reduces energy usage by 60% and carbon emissions by 75% compared to the previous technology.
