Toledo, OH Save Our Community program employs local Interrupters for gun violence prevention
Toledo, OH Save Our Community Interrupters Gun Violence
Save Our Community began with an Interrupter team in the Junction-Englewood neighborhood. The paid staffers engage individuals at risk of committing gun violence. These conversations identify needs like job training, mental health counseling, and financial assistance. Interrupters work with victims of gun violence and their families to prevent retaliatory shootings. This program also determines gun violence hot spots for targeted programs and communications.
