Vantaa, FI Urban Seed and Pollinator Bank Pilot
Vantaa, Copenhagen Seeds, and Habeetats received funding from the Nordic Smart City Network to conduct the urban farming pilot. Nesting shelters throughout the city house solitary bees who are often overlooked as plant pollinators. Three shelter types simulate potential growing conditions based on climate change projections. The project provides educational opportunities and neighborhood-level engagement about best practices in sustainable food growth.
