Walla Walla, WA adopts Sensus advanced metering infrastructure to catch water waste
The city uses Sensus iPerl and OMNI smart meters to capture water use data from 11,000 residential and business users. This system provides more accurate billing to customers than traditional meter reading. Sensus AMI also generates data on water pressure, temperature, and usage patterns that predict necessary pipe repairs. Walla Walla prioritized AMI due to an annual water loss of 30%.
