The 10,000-panel farm powers a facility that consumes 25% of the council's energy. Wodonga approved a solar farm with excess capacity to anticipate plant expansion. The water treatment plant will receive surplus solar energy in the meantime. Renewable sources comprised approximately 50% of the energy used in council buildings and facilities when the farm was built. The council is working toward net-zero emissions by 2050.
