Wolfsburg AG, a public-private partnership between the city of Wolfsburg and Volkswagen AG, is researching ways that IoT technology can make parking smarter. Wolfsburg AG is using FIWARE technology in a research car park to help smart systems identify free parking spaces, recommend them to individual users, and offer an option to reserve the parking space. If successfully implemented, the technology would offer convenience for drivers and parking garage operators.
