Adelaide, SA invests in Australia's first citywide fiber-optic network with Ten Gigabit Adelaide
Adelaide, SA Ten Gigabit First Fiber-Optic Network
City officials began the project with telecommunications partner TPG in 2018. Ten Gigabit Adelaide extended 82 kilometers of fiber-optic lines to 1,000 buildings in the Central Business District. Participating businesses receive connections for free and pay competitive rates for Internet service reaching up to 10 gigabits per second. Adelaide's smart city initiative will build off this network to provide services including cloud storage for connected businesses.
