Allegheny County, PA addresses increase in sexually transmitted diseases with at-home testing pilot

Allegheny County, PA Sexually Transmitted Disease Test Pilot

In Progress

County residents aged 18 to 24 request free tests for chlamydia or gonorrhea through the Color Health website. At-home test results are shared between Color Health and the county's health department for targeted outreach. Pilot participants who test positive receive guidance from the county on treatment and follow-up steps. Allegheny County will evaluate the pilot after 500 tests with the goal of expanding the age range and tested STDs.
