Amsterdam, NH tests LED lines at busy intersection to reduce accidents involving cyclists

Amsterdam, NH LED Lines Busy Intersection Cyclist Accidents

In Progress

Two in-ground lights were placed in front of cycle stop lines at the intersection of Stadhouderskade and Ferdinand Bolstraat. Each light turns red when cyclists are not allowed to cross the congested intersection. LED lines discourage cyclists from running red lights by introducing a new visual element. Amsterdam officials will evaluate how cyclists and vehicles respond to the intervention before considering installations elsewhere in the city.
