Austin, TX supports water reclamation in buildings with Onsite Water Reuse Systems Pilot Incentive

Austin, TX Onsite Water Reuse Systems Pilot Incentive

In Progress

The two-year pilot funds qualifying OWRS in commercial and mixed-use building projects. An OWRS captures and uses non-potable water like stormwater where drinking water isn't necessary. Successful applicants receive up to $250,000 for saving more than 1,000,000 gallons per year and up to $500,000 for systems saving more than 3,000,000 gallons per year. The pilot follows OWRS installations at the city's Permitting and Development Center estimated to reduce yearly potable water use by 75%.
