Bend, OR makes progress toward emission goals with solar installation at water filtration plant

Bend, OR Water Filtration Plant Solar Installation

Complete

City officials worked with Pacific Power to fund a 324-panel installation at the facility. The installation fully powers the plant by producing 190 megawatt-hours of zero-emission energy per year. Bend will save $12,000 each year by generating its own energy for water filtration. This project also reduces the city's annual carbon emissions by 9,000 pounds. The community's Climate Action Goals include an effort to achieve carbon neutrality in city operations by 2030.
