Local stores can sign up as Participating or Redeeming businesses for the B-Local app. Shoppers scan their phones at Participating shops to earn Boston Points. Each Boston Point equals $1 that can be used at Redeeming stores. The city covers the costs of Boston Point redemptions to keep the program free for businesses. B-Local stimulates the local economy by incentivizing purchases at Boston-based businesses.
