The City of Cedar Rapids launched the Sustainable Neighborhoods program that encourages residents to take climate action by gamifying sustainability. The Sustainable Neighborhoods online dashboard allows residents to log their sustainability activities and actions such as bike riding, beekeeping, tree planting, food gardening, LED lightbulb use, improving insulation, etc. The city is developing a recognition program to highlight residents and neighborhoods making significant progress.
