Centre Wellington, ON pursues data-driven application of beneficial nematodes to termite hotspots

Centre Wellington, ON Data-Driven Nematodes Termite Hotspots

Planning

A 2020 Termite Research Services review of properties in Elora and Fergus confirmed 259 lots with termite activity. Centre Wellington published a Request for Proposals for a pest control service to manage nematode applications in hotspots and neighboring properties. Beneficial nematodes are mixed with water and applied to termite nests for extermination. The selected vendor will apply biannual treatments and provide termite control information to community members over the five-year program.
