Cornwall Council, GB converts public lands into wildlife areas with Making Space for Nature

Cornwall Council, GB Wildlife Areas Making Space for Nature

In Progress

The two-year project creates habitats for beneficial species on underutilized land. Council officials, the University of Exeter, and local groups chose spaces for improvements in seven towns. Selected parks, traffic verges, and non-playable areas of recreation grounds will welcome birds and insects. Making Space for Nature combines wildflower patches and native tree plantings with interactive signage that demonstrates the benefits of biodiversity to visitors.
