The city is installing 110 miles of fiber to ensure high-speed Internet access for as many residents as possible. The DayNet network will offer speeds of 1 gigabits per second for homes and up to 100 Gbps per second for businesses. City officials approved DayNet to establish the infrastructure for competitively priced connectivity adaptable to future technologies. A city-owned network also makes smart traffic, wastewater, and public safety initiatives possible.
