Greater Manchester Combined Authority, GB encourages active travel with community bike libraries
Greater Manchester Combined Authority, GB Bike Libraries
Community bike libraries allow users to access bicycles for free from schools, parks, and community centers. Manchester-based organizations apply to Transport for Greater Manchester for grants worth up to 5,000 pounds per project. Funding can be used for bike purchases, repairs, and accessories. Local officials hope that the libraries encourage use of the Bee Network of multi-use trails as well as the authority's bike-sharing program with Beryl.
