The authority approved a £1.1 million contract with the North West Skills Academy for a Retrofit Skills Hub. This program will train 1,140 workers on specialized skills required for home energy retrofits. Graduates of the Retrofit Skills Hub will help local officials reach their carbon-neutrality goal by 2038 one house at a time.
