Healdsburg, CA produces renewable energy from floating solar array at wastewater treatment plant

Healdsburg, CA Floating Solar Array Renewable Energy

Complete

The 3-megawatt array floats in the plant's recycled water ponds. Project partner White Pine Renewables built the installation using 11,600 panels. This system produces 6.5 million kilowatt-hours, which will cover approximately 8% of Healdsburg's total energy needs each year. City officials note that the floating solar array may be turned into a microgrid in the future to reduce reliance on regional utilities.
