Johnson County, KS Curbside Food Drive Trial

The county's Department of Health and Environment coordinates with volunteers in 75 neighborhoods on the program. Every neighborhood has a county contact person who arranges a local donation point. Participating volunteers gather at least 100 non-perishable food and hygiene products before arranging pickup. Curbside Food Drive supports three county-run food banks with the potential for extension beyond the outbreak.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our local food pantries are experiencing a 30% - 40% increase in need. We are looking for volunteers to coordinate no-contact food drives within their immediate neighborhoods and homes associations. After your information is received, you will be contacted by the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment (JCDHE) staff to help coordinate and answer any questions you may have.
